Moanalua Golf Club is a special place with a rich history as the Royal & Ancient Home of Hawaiian Golf. In 1898 the same year the United States annexed the Territory of the Hawaiian Islands, the club was founded by Samuel Mills Damon. The original 18 hole course was reduced to 9 holes in1901, “Because the latter number is sufficient for a warm climate such as we have here.” S.E. Damon, son of Samuel M. Damon, reported to the Honolulu press. Members here at MGC enjoy the exceptional opportunity to step back in time on the only 19th century course layout in Hawaii.

Moanalua Golf Club’s current layout of 9 holes is a par 36 which measures 3062 yards from the furthest tees. The Bermuda fairways and Paspalum greens meander through Moanalua Valley utilizing the natural water hazards, hillsides, and topography Mother Nature has provided. Although not long in length the course does provide all levels of golfers a tough yet fair test of golf. Five holes play directly into the trade winds which rush through the valley and this makes the course play much longer than the yardage states. Our elevated turtle back greens make well struck approach shots, or an exceptional short game a necessity for good scores.

After your round of golf please join our friendly staff for an exceptional experience in our full service restaurant which is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A reasonably priced local style menu is accompanied by daily specials, pupu menu, and full bar to make for a pleasurable dining experience. Our clubhouse can also accommodate your special functions. Whether it’s a lunch meeting for 10 in our boardroom, 20 person tournament with dinner/awards program to follow, catering for a 30 person function, or a 90 person party in the clubhouse our hard working staff is dedicated to create a memorable special event you and your guests will enjoy.
