I too am one of those individuals who sued Charles in civil court and won. I have a judgement of $5k against him and he still has not paid me. My dog Vinnie stayed with him for boarding and training. After 3 weeks, I receive a call from Charles to pick up my dog. When I picked up my dog there was a dead dog in a crate and Charles said it was my dogs fault for the reason why the other dog died. He claims my dog harassed the other dog through the crate causing the other dog to try and break out, hit his head on the crate, and die. When I took my dog home, he was covered in poop, starved to the bone; and missing several nail caps on his paws. My dog's temperament was nervy and skittish when he came home. I brought him to the vet soon after and ran several tests to make sure no long term damage was done. Luckily nothing was found except that my dog was extremely dehydrated. After going public on social media I learned of the many others who too had the same experience. If someone has a negative experience with him, he will block them so they cannot leave a bad review on social media or delete his page and start a new one. Charles Austin and his business Breaking Bad Obedience are not to be trusted with your dog. I entrusted him with our extremely healthy 1 year old German Shepard for a 3 week board and train and after just a week my dog died in his care. Charles had no explanation of what happened to my dog and broke the protocol I established with him in the case of an emergency and instead of taking him straight to an emergency vet, he tried to provide aid that he is not certified to perform. When I picked up my dogs body he was cold, wet and completely stiff already just 40 minutes after Charles claims he passed. He offered no footage from the “security cameras” he brags about, offered no refund and when I tried to settle the matter, continuously lied and gaslit me as well as filed a restraining order against me which was denied. I had to sue him in civil court and the judge ruled in my favor. After talking to multiple other dog owners, breeders, and working dog groups, I found that Charles has a history of dogs dying in his care and malnourishing dogs. He has also lied about being certified as well as being affiliated with multiple breeders and working dog groups. This man has shown that he becomes very aggressive when confronted and should not be trusted with your dog
