Meet the Doctors:

Dr. Traci Schmalle graduated in 1996 with a bachelor of science in biology from Creighton University, in Omaha, Nebraska. She went on to receive her Doctorate in Optometry from the University of Missouri Saint Louis College of Optometry in 2001. She has served as Secretary for the Beta Sigma Kappa National Optometric Honor Society as well as Hawaii Optometric Association. In 2003 Dr. Schmalle was named Wal-Mart Optical (district #282) "Doctor of the Year." During her free time, Dr. Schmalle enjoys spending time with her family as well as reading.

Dr. Jana Murakami, our Associate Optometrist, really enjoys getting to know her patients as people and friends, not just a chart number. She speaks a bit of Japanese and can perform an exam in full Japanese. She can also speak much less Spanish. In her free time Dr. Murakami enjoys singing, playing ukulele, reading books, and eating good food. She has two dogs who are her favorite things in the world.
